NEW GLASS COMPANY. PROSPECTUS ISSUED. Profits were equal to 17.5 per cent. _on mary capital last year, compared with 1b.2, 16.7 and 16.9 per cent, back to 1923. Now a new glass manufacturing company has just been formed in Ashburton anci known as the Southern Cross Gloss Company of New Zealand, Ltd. Judging by the net profits of the Australian Company, the success of the Ashburton venture should be a foregone conclusion. The former showed a net protit in 1927 of £179,365. As far as can bo ascertained the Southern Cross Glass Co of N.Z.. Ltd., has the additional advantage of being the onlv sheet glass works in Austrainsia.
