PRICE FOR WHEAT.
OFFER MADE BY MILLERS. GROWERS ADVISED TO WAIT. [BX TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The following statement has been issued by Mr. W. W. Mulholland, chairman of the Wheat Committee;— "In a communique issued on April 19 the flourmillers of New Zealand informed the farmers that they had made an agreement to pay 5s 7d on trucks for next year's Tuscan wheat.
"Members of the Wheat Committee havo considered this announcement and have decided to recommend growers not to make contracts at this low price, but to await the committee's proposals, which will be ready shortly. "The committee draws particular attention to this direct evidence of a buying. organisation on the part of millers, which is given by this announcement, and lays stress on the great need of action to meet it on the part of the growers."
