WORK FOR A DULL BOY.
« ONLY FIT TO DRIVE CAR." "He is a dull boy, and is not fitted for anything else but driving a motorcar," said an employer in the Arbitration Court yesterday, in voicing an objection to being made a party to tlie drivers' award. " Is it wise to allow a dull hoy to drive in the busy streets of Auckland?" asked Mr. Justice Frazer. " I mean he has no initiative," replied the employer. It was claimed by Mr. G. Davis, secretary of the Drivers' Union, that a youth was engaged in driving his employer's motor-car in the delivery of confectionery. The boy was between 19 and 20, end was paid 25s a week, said the employer, who added that he always accompanied the lad in the delivery of parcels. At the same time the employer was engaged in soliciting business. The youth was really intended to be an errand boy, but, on finding that he could drive a car, the employer had arranged for him to deliver parcels by method. Decision wan reserved.
