DANGEROUS DRIVING.
MOTOR-CAR STRIKES GIG. FIVE POUNDS FINE IMPOSED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN COHRESPONDSENT.J HAMILTON. MondayAs an outcome of a collision between a molor-car, driven by Patrick McMahon, and a gig occupied by Alfred John Elmore and his wife, which occurred on Norton Road, Franktou, on the evening on March 17, McMahon was charged in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to day with dangerous driving. Defendant did not appear. Evidence was givan by Elmore and his wife that when returning from the Ngaruawahia regatta in a gig they saw defendant's motor-car approach. It was being driven in an erratic manner on the wrong side of the road. The gig was drawn well over to the correct side, but the car ran into it, throwing the occupants out and damaging the vehicle. Defendant was convicted and fined £5 and his licence was endorsed.
