Kenwor'vhy, Labour member for ' Kingston-upon-Hull Central, asked \\ nether a statement could be made about the recent conversations between the British , Foreign oflies and the French Foreign Ministry on the subject of the limitation of armaments by agreement; and whether the subject of submarines was investigated? \ . The Under-Secretary for Foreign affairs, Mr. G. T. Locker-Lampson, replied that informal discussions took place at Geneva last month to investigate the possibility of obtaining an agreement for the classification of naval armaments which could o- be included in a draft convention now being prepared by the Preparatory Commission on Disarmament for the Disarma■m ment Conference. No conclusion had yet been reached was still too early to make any statement as to the probable _outcome. The building and employment of v submarines was not touched upon in the conversations.
