DISORDERLY WHILE DRUNK. FATHER AND SON FINED. A noisy altercation in Khyber Pass Road on Thursday between Richard Thomas Jamieson, aged 47, and his son, Robert Emmett Jamieson, aged 21, led to their appearance before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, charged with being disorderly while drunk. It was stated by the police that both father and son were considerably under the influence of liquor. They were engaged in a heated argument, and behaving in a disorderly manner. Both had previous convictions. A fine of £2, in default seven days' imprisonment, was imposed in each case. A sentence of six months' imprisonment was imposed on Jame3 Cromwell, aged 53, who was charged with being a rogue and vagabond. Chief-Detective Hammond said accused never did any work. When arrested he had a bottie of methylated spirits in his possession, which he had been drinking. He was known as a sneak thief, and had 48 previous convictions for various classes of offences. "This man has already been before the Court four times this year," said SubInspector McCarthy, in referring to John Ryan, aged 34, who admitted being disorderly while drunk in Quay Street. A fine of £2, in default ten days' imprisonment, was imposed. Henry Owen Wixon, aged 22, who appeared for sentence on a charge of, attempting to steal luggage left in the care of s the Railway Department, was convicted and ordered to oome up for sentence if called upon within six months. George James Mace, aged 46, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for committing an indecent act in George Street, Newmarket.
