PROGRESS AT CLAUDELANDS. GOOD WORK DURING YEAR. [By TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Friday. There was a large attendance afc the annual meeting of the Claudelands parishioners last evening. Dean G. R. Barnett presided. The committee reported that during the last year there had been a marked improvement in the attendances at the services held in Claudelands, and in the offertories received. The Rev. S. K. Wareing had done splendid work during the year he had been in the parish, particularly in connection with the Sunday School. The children had purchased a silver chalice and paten for use in the church. Since the beginning of this year the Rev. J. Rich had taken over Mr. VVareing's duties, and one of his first efforts was to form a troop of Boy Scouts. Appreciation of the work done by the Sunday School teachers and the Ladies' Guild was expressed. The committee concluded its report by thanking Dean Barnett for acceding to the general desire of the people at Claudelands that plain services should be retained in the church. A contribution of £25 was received from the Ladies' Guild toward the reduction of the church hall debt. The ladies stated that they intended to provide three more heaters for the hall, and that in future they would work for the total extinction of the hall debt and the establishment of a church building fund. The balance-sheet showed that the debt on the hall had been reduced from £207 to £SO during the year. Dean Barnett congratulated the Claudelands parishioners on the excellent report and balance-sheet submitted. Claudelands, ho said, was a very important part of the parish and all the Cliurch organisations connected with s*. were much alive. The progress made was very satisfactory. Tlie time was not far distant, said the dean, when Claudelands would be in a position to form a new parish. ?Vs Hamilton was the cathedral centre of the diocese it should be a strong Church centre. He looked forward to the time when Hamilton would be divided into four parishes, including Claudelands and its outstations.

Dean Barnett asked the church committee to consider the question of assuming a larger share of the parish's financial responsibilities. Tho parish was very poorly off with respect to buildings and he was convinced that the Sunday schools were losing many children owing to the lack of buildings in such places as Whitiora and Melville. The dean expressed his sincere thanks to the Claudelands committee and ladies' guild for the work they had done. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: — Vicar's warden. Mr. F. B. Hall; people's warden, Mr. W. H. Blakeway; committee. Messrs. G. "W. Matthews, F. Horspool. IT. Tavlor. G. Whitley. P. F. Snell. H. M.
