At a sports meeting in Boston, Clarence Dcmav, aged 39, won the American marathon for the sixth time. His time was 2 hours 37 minutes 7 seconds. Demar's victory was the greatest of his career, as he outdistanced the finest field of track athletes ever assembled in America.
