PROTECTION OF WOMEN.
A report that 40 new cases had been attended to during the month was presented by tho secretary at the meeting of tho executive of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children. Of tho number 27 cases concerned ltfusbands and wives, and six dealt with children. There had been 191 oflice interviews, whilq tho inspector liad attended to 27 cases, involving 59 visits and interviews, and had spent I'om mornings in Court.
