WEEK-END WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 48 hours, from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Mainly fair to cloudy weather is indicated »during the week-end, with warm temperatures, although at times unsettled, overcast conditions are likely, with heavy thunder sho\tfers in places, chiefly in South Auckland districts, in Waikato areas, and along the east coast of the North'laland. Winds variable, southerly to South-easterly, moderate to strong, prevailing. Seas moderate. Relatively low pressure continues over New Zealand, and little change is expected at present, although a decreasing tendency should shortly become manifest. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 29.801n. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows; —Pressure is still rather low over the NQrth Island, and has also been falling in the South, with the advance of a slight depression over the South Tasman Sea. Indications are for variable winds, but southerlies prevailing soon, moderate generally, but fresli at times south from Cook Strait Generally moderate seas, but rather rough in the Cook and Foveaux Straits region. Moderate to fresh west to south-west winds and moderate to rough seas in the central and southern Tasman Sea. leather cloudy and changeable, with scattered rain in most districts and cooler temperatures.
