AKARANA YACHT CLIJB. LAUNCH HANDICAPS DECLARED. The following handicaps have been declared for the Akarana Yacht Club's launch race to Matiatia to-day:—Tarua, scr; Phyllis, 32m; Nyria, 33m; Kirita, Eileen, 40im. At the request of the owners of the Star class boats, the event set down for decision. to-day will constitute the first race for the cup sent from the United States of America for competition among the star class. The boats will carry their official numbers as follows: —Moa, 245 ; Ola IV., 246; June, 247. This particular cup is to be raced for three times this season and will be decided on points. It will be competed for annually. ROYAL YACHT SQUADRON. CRUISING RACE TO TE KUME. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's cruising race to Te Kume to-day will start at two o'clock from off the end of King's Wharf. The course is direct to Te Kume, a distance of 31 miles, competitors observing all fairway marks. The finishing line will be between tbe northwestern end of Rangipuke Island and the launch Avis. The boats will be started by Messrs. J. C. Hewson and G. Deary and the times will be taken by Mr. R. Johnston. MANUKAU YACHT CLUB. SMALL BOAT CHAMPIONSHIP. The Manukau Yacht and Motor-boat Club will hold two open championship races this afternoon, one for 14ft. and another for 18ft. boats. The usual handicap race for yachts will be held at the same time. In the 14ffc. race Cupid will represent the Yacht Club and Sea Gnome the Cruising Club. Following are the entries and handicaps for the launch race :—Rosita, scr.; Diano, 7m 455; Naughty Girl. 8m 455; Karma, 10m 15s; Sea Wolf, 12m 30s; Rainbow, 16m 455; A.H.8.. 24m 30s; Miharo, 25m; Mermaid, 25m; Elnia, 25m 30s; Regal, 25m 455; Pastime, 26m; Hinernoa, 26m; Norma. 26m 30s; Katui, 26m dOs; Senori.ta, 26m 30s; Lily Meg. 26m 30s; Wanderer. 28m; Mamselle, 34m. MANUKAU CRUISING CLUB. HANDICAPS FOR TO-DAY. The Manukau Cruising Club will sail races for yachts and launches over the following special courses to-day: — Yachts will start between jetty and main wharf, thence round soldier buoy off White Bluff, thence round boat moored off White Bluff, thence round mark boat moored off jetty. They will go twice round, finishing between main wharf and jetty. Yachts will make a flying start at 2.30. Entries and handicaps are as follows: Anahe, Sylvia, Valdora, Aoma, Mvra, all scr; Waiapu, 2m; Champagne, 2£m; Hetty, 4m; Maidie, 4Am; Sea Horse, 6£m; Mystery, 7£na; Sea Gnome, 9m. Launches will start between main wharf and jetty, thence round boat off Nicholson's Point (Mangere), thence round fifth red buoy, thence round black buoy off Mangere beacon. They will go »twice round and finish between main wharf and jetty. All marks are to be kept on the starboard hand. Entries and handicaps are as follows: Dione, scr; Naughty Girl, 2m; Pal-o'-Mine, 2£m; Sea Wolf, 3£m: Rainbow, 7im; Mermaid, A.H.8., 14m; Katui, 14-jm; Miharo, Regal, 15m; Hinemoa, 16m; Millie, 17m; Karoro, Almora, 18m; Wanderer, Pastime, 21m; Cremorne, 25m; Salome, 27m; .M.G., Lynx, 29m; Tawera, 30m; Success, 32m; Glare, 35m.
