EPSOM GIRLS' GRAMMAR. The annual swimming sports of the Epsom Girls' Grammar School were held yesterday in Shelly Beach Baths. There was a large attendance. During the afternoon a display of fancy diving was given by old and present girls. Although no records were broken, close contests were seen in all the races. A demonstration of life-s&ving was given by the Whangarei troop of Boy Scouts. MOUNT EDEN CARNIVAL. The Mount Eden Amateur Swimming Club's second carnival of the season will be held at the Mount Eden baths next Monday evening, when a varied programme of swimming, diving and novelty events will be decided. The chief event on the programme, the 50yds. Auckland championship, in which the fastest sprint swimmers in Auckland, .1. P. Farrell, J. Enwright, L. Fairgray and R. Seilars, will compete, should result in a close and exciting contest. In addition to handicap events for all classes, the challenge relay race between the Helensville and Mount Eden Clubs and two primary school relay races . for the Stevenson and Nicholson Shields should considerably add to an interesting evening's sport. WAITEMATA CARNIVAL. An attractive programme of events has been arranged for the Waitemata Amateur Swimming Club's third carnival of the season, to be held at the Tepid Baths next Tuesday evening. Great interest will centre in the inter-house challenge relay race, which has drawn entries from the following firms: —John Court; Smith anil Caughey, George Court, Milne and Olioyce and the combined team of Ashley's and Tonson Garlick. The 220 yds. breaststrnke champion of New Zealand, N. K, Svlow, will attempt to lower C. Atkinson's Dominion saltwater record of 3m 10 2-5s and C. Heard's New Zealand fresh-water record of 3m 4 4-ss.

OLYMPIC REPRESENTATIVES. Swimming enthusiasts in Auckland are promised a treat next Thursday evening, when Miss Ena Slockley, of Auckland, and Miss Kathleen Miller, of, Dunedm, the two Dominion lady swimming Olympic representatives, will appear at a carnival at the Tepid Baths. The carnival, which has been promoted for the purpose of raising money to go toward the Olympic fund, will be held under the auspices of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association Misses Stockley and Miller will return to Auckland next Tuesday after a most successful tour of Australia. Both ladies won New South Wales championships in Sydney and Australian championships at Melbourne, and will compete in special events. In all probability, provision will be made for the establishing of new records under official conditions. A splendid programme has been arranged and some excellent swimming should be witnessed. , I V > The chief events are: —loo\ els ladies invitation race. 220 yds ladies' first-class handicap, 100 yds first-class men's handicap, 66 2-Syds men's handicap, 150 yds breaststroke handicap and 66 ladies' handicap. In addition, a waterpolo match will be played between the Monnt Eden and Waitemata A teams. The Ponsonby Club is endeavouring fo ■lend a team to Helensville to compete in fhe Helensville Club's carnival this evening. CARNIVAL AT TE AWAMTJTU. [ill' TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORHESrOiSDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Friday. The Te Awamutu Swimming Club's second carnival was held last evening in the Municipal Baths. Rain fell during eariy evening, but cleared soon after the start The star 1 attraction of the carnival was the 100 yds South Auckland championship for which there were competitors from Hamilton, Cambridge and io Awamutu. The Morrinsville entrants did not attend. From a good start C. 1' arquliar (Hamilton) gradually took the lead and he was in front at the second turn (66vds), but R. L. Adams (Te Awamutu) overhauled him and in an excit'ig finish won by a foot. N. Ross (Hamilton) was a good third. Time, 675. Other results were:— _ Ladies' Handicap, 50yds.—Miss J.
