MOTOR-CARS COLLIDE.

CHILD SERIOUSLY HURT. " DR. A. E. MARSACK INJURED. ACCIDENT AT REMUERA.. Severe head injuries were sustained by Dr. A. E. Marsack, of Reimuera, and two children of Mr. P. T. Upton, of Remuera, were injured, one of them seriously, in a collision between two motor-cars at the corner of Omahu and Dromorne Roads, Remuera, at six o'clock last evening. One car was driven by Dr. Marsaek's son and the other by Mr. Upton. The two children, James and Susie Upton, were riding in the back of their father's car, with their sister Elizabeth and a cousin, and were apparently struck by flying debris] They were unconscious when removed from the vehicle, and the little girl was found by Dr. G. M. Pezaro to be suffering from serious head injuries. She was taken to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, where an operation was immediately performed. Her condition is serious.

Tho boy escaped with bruises. After attention from Dr. Frank Macky, Dr. Marsack was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. An operation was performed, and his condition is stated to be fairly satisfactory. Dr. Marsaek's car was practically wrecked. When the collision occurred it swung round against Mr. Upton's car, falling on its side with a crash that shattered every pane of glass except the windscreen. The coachwork was crushed, the bonnet torn from the engine, the front axle broken, and the chassis twisted. Dr. Marsaek's son, Mr. A. E. Marsack, who was on the lower side when the car turned over, experienced a remarkable escape from injury. Mr. Upton's car came to rest on the pavement, with one front wheel bent beneath the body and the side badly damaged at the point of impact. Dr. Marsaek's car was turning into Omahu Road from Dromorne Road when the accident occurred. Mr. Upton's car was proceeding up Omahu Road in the direction of Remuera, and the collision took place in the middle of the intersection.
