SUNDAY TRAINS.

Sir,—l do not at all agree with " Old Colonial " on abolition of Sunday trains. Take one feature for instance, that of the general hospital and those of the public who are entirely dependent on train travel. Are the sick and suffering to be deprived of seeing their relatives and friends from Friday evening until the following Tuesday evening? Ask the railway staff themselves, would they rather run Sunday trains, presumably on "shifts," that is, certain men, one Sunday, others 1 the next, or leave the sick without visitors ? Whose is the Sabbat h but God's ? Would He rather part of it were spent, cheering His suffering ones, or otherwise? Perhaps "Old Colonial" has a motor-car, and is therefore independent of other conveyance; I have not, and am not likely to have', and so would be very sorry were Sunday trains done awav with. i.e:e.c.
