BODY NEAR RAILWAY.
MAN NOT IDENTIFIED. The seriously-injured body of an unidentified man was found alongside the railway line between Mount Eden and Morningside early yesterday morning. The guard of the Henderson-bound train, which left Mount Eden at 6.35, noticed the body as the train passed under the Arnold Street overhead bridge. The police were notified, but there was nothing by which the body could be identified. Appearances were that the man had ben knocked over and fatally injured by a train. He was about 40 or 50 years of age and was about sft. Bin. in height. He was wearing a grey tweed suit and cap, black boots and a white tennis shirt. He was dark, clean-shaven and of medium build.
