ILLEGAL VODKA.
SUPPRESSION IN RUSSIA.; HEAVY FINES AND SEIZURES. LONDON. Feb. 15. The Riga correspondent of the Times says January was a most profitable month for the police in their campaign against illegal distillers of vodka. Fines amounted to £IOO,OOO, and the money was taken from 50,000 peasants. Twelve thousand stills were seized and 723 litres of vodka were either spilt-or confiscated. •
