JAPANESE ELECTION.

STATE OF THE PARTIES. MINISTERIAL CRISIS EXPECTED. (Received February 23, 9.35 p.m.) A. and N.Z. TOKIO, Feb. 22. The Japanese general election retiirns show that the Minseito Party has gained 218 seats, the Seiyukai (Government) Party 215, Labour eight and the other parties 22. The official figures have not yet been published. The polls having resulted practically :in a tie between the two main parties a Ministerial crisis is almost a certainty. Both parties are trying to gain the support of the Independents' and Labourites. The election passed quietly and evoked great public interest.
