MONEY FOR AIRMEN'S WIDOWS
A sum of £370 17s 3d has been realised by the Herald appeal to citizens to lion out' in practical form the memory of the late Lieutenant Moncrieff and Captain Hood, who died in their pioneering attempt to fly the Tasman Sea. The J asnjan Flight Fund has now been closed, although belated subscriptions from the country will be acknowledged and added to the total. The money will be divided between the widows of the airmen. Ihe list to date is as follows:

LOCAL FUND WELL SUPPORTED.
A feature of the appeal has been the wonderful response made by the Pukehuia district. A few days ago the receipts (£l4 17s 3d) from a dance were acknowledged, and yesterday the organising committer forwarded a further sum of £34 lis 6d, making a total from the district of £49 8s 9d. The major portion (£27 17s 6d) was raised by direct subscriptions, while £6 14s was realised from a picture show arranged by the Y.M.C.A. Subscribers to the Pukehuia list are as follows:—Messrs. E.
