ENGINEERS' SOCIETY.
QUARTERLY MEETING HELD. The quarterly meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers was presided over by Mr. Jj. B. Campbell, chairman of the branch. Feeling reference was made to the death of Mr. J. Blair Mason. Congratulations were offered to Mr. F. E. de Guerrier upon being selected to fill the position of president of the society. Interesting papers upon the supplies of materials for works of construction were read by Messrs. F. E. Powell and G. T. Murray. Owing to the lateness of _ the hour discussion was postponed until a special meeting could be arranged.
