YESTERDAY'S WEDDINGS.

BRUNTON-HARVEY. A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Luke's Church, Remuera, yesterday afternoon, when Miss Elizabeth Harvey, daughter of Mr. G. Harvey, of Whangaparau, was married to Mr. Herber Brunton, third son oi ! Mr. and Mrs. Brunton, of Leith, Scotland. Tlie Rev. J. A. Thompson officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. J. Waddell, wore a frock of white ecru lace with broad bands of white georgette round the skirt. Her tulle veil was caught to the head with sprays of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaid was Miss Edith Nobes, who was in a frock of powder blue crepe de chine, and cream lace. She wore a blue crinoline straw hat and carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers Mr. Ivor Thomas attended the bridegroom as best man.

CHRISTIE—BLYTHE

The marriage oi Miss Myrtle Blythe, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Adair Blythe, of Remuera, formerly of England, to Mr. Andrew Christie, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Christie, of .Napier, was celebrated in St. Aiden's Church, Remuera, yesterday afternoon. The Rev. Coleman officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. G. Blythe, wore a frock of white panne velvet, with a circular skirt opening at the sides to reveal panei3 o ( accoraecyi-pleated georgette. Her long veil of tulle was finished with a chaplet of orange blossom. The bridal bouquet was of white flowers. Miss Mary Cornford, Miss Barbara Wilson, Miss Edna Paddison and Miss Helen Overton acted as bridesmaids, wearing frocks ol pompadour pink taffeta with round necks of silver lace. The silver grey crinoline hats were trimmed with pink ribbon and each bridesmaid carried a bouquet of paid pink carnations and maidenhair fern. Mr. Basil Blythe carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. Peter Overton and Mr. George Mitchell were ushers.

COX—MURPHY

The marriage of Miss The.lma Edna Murphy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Murphy, of Sherwood Road, Mount Eden, to Mr. Arthur Cox, eldest son of Mr. ana Mrs. Cox, of New Plymouth, took place in St. Matthew's Church yesterday afternoon. The Rev. H. W. Heaslip performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white taffeta with a long uneven hemline. Her embroidered tulle veil ws* caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Miss Mavis Murphy, sister of the bride, and Miss Betty Habern, acted as ..bridesmaids, the former wearing a frock of primrose taffeta with a transparent hem of net, and tho latter wearing amethyst taffeta fashioned on the same lines. Their hats of tulle were turned slightly from the face, and they carried bouquets to tone, Mr. Cox acted as best man and Mr. Reginald Murphy was groomsman.

DAVIS—CARTER

St. Benedict's Church was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday afternoon when Miss Constance Lenore Carter, elder daughter of the late Mr. T. Runoiman Carter and Mrs. F. Barrett, of Svmondi Street, was married to Mr. Stanley Jw. Davis, of Takapau, Hawke's Bay. .The bride, who entered the church on th* arm of her uncle, Mr, E. Brooks Clarke, wore a frock of ivory georgette and.crepe-de-chine, with basque bodice and slightly bouffant skirt. From the shoulder posy were ivory satin streamers which threaded through tne corsage spray o! orange blossom and fell to the scalloped hem. An embroidered veil • which formed a train was caught round the head with a coronet of orange blossom and silver leaves'. She carried a snower bouquet. Miss Adelai Carter was brides, maid, and wore a frock of Venetian-mist • blue georgette appliqued with amethyst. She wore a head-dress of silver lame and blue tulle and carried a bouquet of msovt flowers. Little Faye Bradley was flowergirl, wearing a dainty frock of apncot georgette, with embroidered flowers W opal blue, and blue tulle bow on her hair. Mr. H, Wright was best man.

GIBSON—CLARKE.

The marriage was celebrated at St. Andrew's Church last evening o! Miss Kathleen May Clarke, only daughter of Mrand Mrs. G. Clarke, of Kingsland, to Mr. Robert Neil Gibson, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gibson, of Masterton. The Rev. J. Lamb Harvey was the officiating minister. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory georgette with an oceordeon-pleated tiered skirt and bands of narrow satin rifcbon lattice-worked across the> bodice. Her veil of embroidered tulle fell in two folds forming a train and was finished with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet Q$ pink *n<i white flowers. Miss. Edna Murray and Miss Doreen Bowen acted as bridesmaids, wearing frocks of iaponicapink and iris mauve taffeta respectively. They wore eequinned bandeaux for head-dresses and carried shower bouquets to tone with their frocks. Little Joyce and Bonnie Farquhar made dainty flower girls, the former wearing a frock of orange shot taffeta with a petalled skirt, and the latter a frock of powder blue and pal# pink georgette, trimmed with swana* down. Mr. Lan Gibson acted as best man and Mr. Lan Symington was groomsman.

SHREEVE-JONES

St. Andrew's Church, Symonds Street, was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday morning when Miss Constance Jones, daughter of Mrs. and the lata Jones, of Blockhouse Bay, was married to Mr. Ernest Shreeve, fifth son of Mrs. and the late Mr. J. Shreeve, of Herne Bay. The Rev. J. Lamb Harvey performed the ceremony. The bride, who was-given away by her brother, Mr. Leslie Jones, wore a frock of ivory georgette, with a gathered skirt and a Iwge georgette flower on the shouidor. H*r veil of embroidered tulle was finished with wreaths of orange blossom, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white Christmas lilies and sweet peas. The bridesmaids were Miss Grace Jones, who wore a frock of Naples blue and Miss Lomy Knapping, who wore salmon pink georgette. They wore headdresses of tulle and carried shower bouquets toning with their frocks. Mr. Frank Shreeve acted as best man, aoa Mr. Arthur Shreeve was groomsman. VERCOE—McCURDY. The marriage was celebrated in St. Patrick's Cathedral yesterday morning of Miss Doris McCurdy, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr, J. McCurdy, of Herne Bay, to Mr. James Vercoe, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Vercoe, of Edendale. The Rev. Dr. Buxton officiated, assisted by Archdeacon Holbrook. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. J. Francis, wore » frock of ivory georgette over pale pink satin. The uneven nemline was trimmed with linen of pale pink and silver beads. Her veil of Honiton lace, which formed a train, was caught round the head with a high coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. Mrs. B. Skinner acted as matron of honour, wearing a frock of almond green, with a bodice of lame, and a skirt of petalled g6° r " gette. Miss Mav Vercoe and Miss Zeta Noone acted as bridesmaids, wearing pr®* line pink and scarab blue respectively.
