BEAM TO AUSTRALIA.
THE FADING DIFFICULTY. INDIA RELAY SUGGESTED. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Jan. 2'J. There is apparently little hope oi minimising the fading of the Australian beam by recourse to alternate wavelengths, as in the case of India and South' Africa. It is understood that all such tests have been without result in Australia, though India always hears the sigrals. It is now suggested to utilise India for the purpose of relaying, and thus extend the period of communication with Australia.
