Six charges of breaches of the Licencing Act were preferred against Oliver Cunningham in the Magistrate's Court today. Defendant, who was represented by Mr. J. D. Vernon, pleaded guilty, arid fines to the amount of over £SO were imposed. In outlining the case Sergeant Fearnley stated that, the police had had the defendant under observation for about two years and this was a bad case. On two charges of selling liquor within a proclaimed area defendant, was fined £25, with costs £3 2s, and £25, with costs 10s respectively. On each of two charges of .supplying liquor a fine of £3 with costs 10s was inflicted, and on each of two charges of keeping liquor for sale convictions were entered and defendant was ordered to pay costs.
