MT. WELLINGTON DISTRICT.
HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES. The Monnt Wellington Road Board met last evening, Mr. G. Kay presiding. The City Council furnished particulars of the proportion of the board's share of the heavy traffic fees, and the allocation for the quarter. The board considered the allocation on A basis of population and valuation operated adversely in the case of the Mount Wellington district on account of the relatively large mileage of reading and the small population, ifc ■was decided to notify the City Council that the board would require future allocations to be mads- on a basis of valuation and road mil-age. The board decided to apply to the Main Highways Board to have the EllersliePanmure Road and the Mount Wellington highway declared main highways.
