YACHTING IN CANTERBURY.
MEASUREMENTS OF BOATS. {BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CHRISTCHDRCH. Monday. Tho action of the committee of the Christchurch Sailing and Power Boat Club in assuming control of the responsibilities of the lately disbanded Canterbury Yachting Association until such time as any other club or clubs desired to join in te form a new association, was con firmed'at a special meeting of the club held on Saturday. It was further decided that the delegates be asked to oppose the appointment of a Dominion measurer if such were proposed at the coming Dominion confer ence, it being pointed out that such an official was unnecessary and that his expenses in travelling from province to province in order to measure all boats three months before the trials would bo too heavy. Air. G. G. Andrews intimated that he intended to bring tho whole question of tho boats' restrictions and their measurements before the conference in an endeavour io have the existing conditions refrained so that the dissensions in regard to tho measurements of the competitors should be eliminated.
