FOUND DEAD ON FLOOR.
DISCOVERY- BY DAUGHTER. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WAIHI, Monday.? Shortly after 5 o'clock on Saturday afternoon the 13-year-old daughter of Alfred Smoothy, aged 59, a widower, residing in Smith Street, found her father's body, clad in pyjamas, lying face downwards on the floor in his bedroom. Medical aid was immediately summoned, but on arrival Dr. Short found that death had occurred about an hour previously. At the inquest held on Sunday it was stated that the post mortem examination had shown the cause of death to be heart failure. Deceased, who had not been in good health for some time, leaves three sous and a daughter.
