FIRE BRIGADES' CONTEST.
A WIN FOR NOTOFIUA. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COnnKSPONDENT.] TAURANGA, Monday. The T/iuranga, Rotoraa and Whakatane fire brigades took port to-day in a competition for the Chilton Cup, which was held by tho Tauranga brigade. The competition comprised one-man dry event, two-men dry event, and four-men motor event. V utorua won all three events, scoring IS points, and now hold the cup. Tauranga was second with 7 points, and Whakatane third witli 5 points. Other events were also held, and resulted as follows: Two-men Event, Wet,—Te Puke, 1; Tauranga, 2; Rotorua, 3; Whakatane, 4. .
