BOWLERS FAREWELLED.

WEST END CLUB FUNCTION. Hi a president of the West End Bowling Club, Ma.. C. H. Plummer, gave a social on Saturday evening to soven members of the club who are leaving shortly with the New Zealand team which is to tour England and Canada. There are Messrs. J. W. Hardley, W. Hardley, •C. Hill. E. Needham, W. Kirk, G-. Sands and B. Wilson. There was a large attendance of members of the club and visitors from other clubs. Mr. J. Pascoe, president of the Auckland Centre, and Mr. H. Clarke and Mr. G-. Reid, members of the centre, were present. Several speeches were given by members of the club and the centre officials, the members of the* touring party responding. A presentation was made to each member of the party. During the evening an excellent musical programme was provided. VISIT FROM MANAWATU* TWO GAMES WITH AUCKLAND. A party of bowlers from the Manawatu Centre will visit Auckland on Wednesday play two games against local rinks. GREY LYNM *AT HOMET* OPENING OF NEW GREEN.: An "At Home" was held on Saturday by the Grey Lynn Bowling Club to mark the opening of the new green. There was a large number of visitors and bowlers from other clubs present. The president of the club, Mr. W. H. Newton, gave credit to the social and finance committees, the members of which had worked hard to provide the club with' such fine playing facilities. Messrs. J. Pascoe, president of *the Auckland Centre, J. Hardley and J. Thomson also commeoded the club for its enterprise and wished its members every success in the future. During the afternoon a match was played between rinks chosen by the president and vice-presidents. OPOTIKI CLUB'S CONTEST. [Br TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] OPOTIKI, Saturday. The Opotiki Citizens' Bowling Club played a match this afternoon against Opotiki Club for a pennant presented, by Mi-. W. Stevens, president of the Citizens' Club.
