STRANGE GHOST STORY.
TALE OF A "CLAMMY HAND."] An extraordinary story of a clergyman's " ghost," which opens locked doors, rustles paper in a noisy fashion, and occasionally pinches people so severely that finger marks are plainly discernible upon the skin many days later, was related at Cardiff, recently. The house in which the ghostly visitant plays his pranks is in London Square and is occupied by Mrs. Knight and her married daughters. One of the daughters speaks of a remarkable incident which occurred to her whilo sleeping ip one of the front rooms of the house. Her vivid description of the episode is< as follows; — " Suddenly I felt compelled to turn my head and look across the room toward the opposite wall. Standing near the wall was a very tall man, whose head was bent as if in thought. He was dressed in grey, the kind of clotb clergymen wear, and wore a clergyman's collar. I could see the outline of his head, but his features were blotted out and could not be distinguished. " Suddenly he crossed over and came to the foot of my bed. I then felt the corner of the bed-clothes lifted, and a cola, clammy hand pressed against my foot. The .hand was then withdrawn and the man turned and walked away. " Under my pillow was a torch, but when I tried to move my hand to reach for it some kind of power prevented me, and the visitor disappeared as if he had walked through the wall. The next morning there were plain finger marks on my foot." . Other people say they have seen the ghostly visitor and every description of it is precisely the same. to records two clergymen once occupied the house and report baa it that , one of them died there. _
