STRANGE CANCER CASE.

YOUNG MAN'S DEATH. * [FKOM OtTßi OWN COHBJESPONDEST. ] BTDNEY. Deo. 29. When cancer develops it is almost invariably in people of middle ago—from about 45 years onwards. Doctors and scientists are puzzled over the case of Richard McOrath, a young labourer, who has died in Parramatta Hospital from the disease. The patient, whose age was 24, was admitted to the hospital over a fortnight ago. He had an abnormally large growth in the back, near the spine and extending almost into the abdomen. After the young man was operated upon, parts of the tumor were sent to the Board of Health and the pathological department of Sydney University. Specialists made careful examinations, but were unable to determine its exact nature. To medical science it is a unique specimen. The cancer developed within three months.
