GUINEA PIG MURDER.
LAST TY>E OF VANDAL. [raoii ouk own correspondent.] SYDNEY. Deo. 3S. There are extraordinary vandals in Sydney. Last week the stock of guinea pigs and rabbits kept at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for experimental purposes was ruthlessly butchered by some queerminded idividual. The loss is a heavy one to the hospital, and until a fresh stock is obtained research work has to cease. The vandal made small holes in the wire netting of the pens, and through these introduced either small dogs or ferrets. Not one animal was left alive, the mangled bodies being strewn all over the ground. Tha happening involves hardship on the Eatients, too, as they will have to stay i* ospital longer, since scientific observation and reports on many cases cannot now be made. In consequence of the raid the hospital is appealing to the public for supplies of guinea pigs or white Belgian rabbits, which are fcno type used lor experimental purpose».
