GARDEN GAMES.
A new game for the garden appears to have been suggested by croquet and golf. It is played with golf balls and putters, but the balls are coloured and are sent through various obstacles, including hoops, rings, tunnels, and a bridge. The game calls for considerable skill, and is very amusing. Another garden game which takes up little room is played with a ball suspended from a line by a 'hook and ring. The ball glides alpng the line toward a stand upon which it should rest, the scoring depending upon the position attained. This game, however, does not seem to retain interest for very long, and is unlikely to become so popular as the first. A more strenuous game is the old tether ball, played with tenuis rackets. This is simply a ball attached to a long cord fixed to a pole, an outfit that, is easily made afc home. A game which Is becoming very popular requires a net with several pockets, the idea being to place a golf ball in the right pocket with a mashie. This game is excellent practice for golf, and is also quite amusing to anyone who is not familiar with the links.
