VISITS TO MANY PORTS.

The schedule of movements of H.M.S. Dunedin and H.M.S. Diomede for the ensuing months was announced by the Minister of Defence, Hon. F. J. Rolleston, to-day. The programme for the Dunedin is arranged for the period from January 16 to April 17, and that for the Diomede for the period from January 16 to May 3. The Dunedin will reach Hauraki Gulf from Auckland on January 16, and will remain there until January 27, when she will leave for Whangaroa, staying there until February 6. The vessel will return to Auckland that night and ten days later will leave for New Plymouth, where she is due on 1' ebruary 18. On iebiuaiy 22 the Dunedin will leave for Westport, where she should arrive on L ebruary 24. The Dunedin will circle the South Island, calling at several ports, and will reach Wellington on March 30. Hie Dunedin is due back at Auckland on April 17. The Diomede will remain in the Hauraki Gulf from January 16 until January 27, when she will return to Auckland, leaving there again on January 30 for Russell. On February 8 she will put back for Auckland, which port she will clear on the evening of February 9 for Gisborne, where she will remain until February 15. A stay of five days will then be'made at Nap'ier, after which the vessel will call at Wanganui, proceeding thence to Greymouth, where she is due on February 24 With the Dunedin sho will leave that place for the Sounds on February 27. The Diomede will visit South Island ports until April 10, when sho is due at Wellington.
