CLASH IN PALESTINE.
UNEMPLOYED AND POLICE. LABOUR IN ORANGE GROVES. LONDON, Deo. 23. The Jerusalem correspondent of the Times states that a number of Jewish unemployed, angered by their compatriots' employment of Arabs in the Petachtikveh orange groves, met in conflict with British police. Fifteen Jews were wounded and 17 arrested. Subsequently the police ejected the unemployed from the Council Hall. Martial law has been proclaimed throughout the colony. The employers say the Jewish labour terms are excessive, whereas the Arabs are willing to work 12 hours" a day for low wages.
