FLYING OVER THE SEA.

COLONEL LINDBERGH'S VIEWS NO CROSSING OF PACIFIC. MEXICO CITY, Dec. 23. " I have no intention of making a flight across' the Pacific," said Colonel Charles Lindbergh, in the course of an interview. He added that all his experience was against taking unnecessary chances over large bodies of water. " Perhaps I am like the man who makes a tremendous piungo in stock gambling, and then forever after preaches against playing the market," said the airman. He also said he had no intention of accompanying Commander Byrd on his South Polar flight. " 1 think a non-stop Pacific flight could be made," he continued, " but it is a big gamble. Modern equipment is still too insecure, and a forced landing over water is usually fatal. No (lyingboat has yet been perfected wilh a sufficient radius for such a flight- 1 know I committed one such gamble, but what is the value of taking chances with men's lives by trying to cross more oceans? They aro merely stunts now."
