Thursday Delegates, whose average age was 82 years, attended the annual meeting of the Now Zealand Association of His Majesty's veterans at New Plymouth yesterday. Major Lomax (Wanganui) presided. It was reported that statistics from the Pensions Office showed that 62 veterans had died during the year, and there were 336 remnining on September 30. The original number of Maori War pensioners was 1.970. Tt was decided that none but. Maori War veterans be eligible for membership. New officers were elected as follows: President,. Sir Charles Fergusson; vicepresident, Major Lomax (Wanganui) ; secretary, Mr. E. L. Humphries (New Plvmouth). Tt was resolved to hold the next, annual meeting at Hastings next November. Tt was reported that Sir Douglas "McLean had offered to contribute to the funeral expenses of any veteran if sufficient monev was not otherwise available.
