BOOT IMPORTER'S PREMISES. [BY TELEGRAPH. — r WN CORRESPONDENT j CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday By smashing in a back window thieves entered the premises of S.'Gilmour, boot importer, in Cashel Street, some time last evening or early this morning, taking money and a quantity of stock. Mr. Gilmour closed down at the usual time yesterday, locking all windows and both the back door and one leading into the front portion of the shop When he arrived at -work this morning he found that a back window had been smashed and that a pane of glass in the door leading to the front of the shop had been cut out. The stock had been ransacked thoroughly, boots and boxes being strewn on the floor behind the counter. A number of boxes had been taken down, but were replaced on the shelves. The tilJ had been opened, but the thieves must have been disappointed, as it contained only some small change and coppers and stamps, all of which were taken.
