TROTTING.

SEASON'S FIXTURES. December 3—Waikato Trotting Club. December 10- -Northland Trotting Club. December Wellington Trotting Club. Decembei 26, 27—Weatport Trotting Club December 27, 29. 31—Auckland Trotting Club. February 18, 22—Otahuhu Trotting Club. March 24—Thames Trotting Club. June 23, 27—Auckland Trotting Club. . NOTES BY PICADOR. Until competing among the pacers in hia last two starts Waikaha had novor been beaten out of a place. The big trotter haa a great record in spite of hia -recent defeats ahd it should not be long before he is in the limelight again. At his beat be should troublo the pacers in the Mark Memorial Handicap on Saturday, although there seems to be a disposition to believe that he may bo more at home among the trotters in the Rowe Handicap. \ It ia understood that A. Bryce will steer Tradesman in the Hamilton Handicap at Claudelands on Saturday. It is a long time since Tradesman won a race, although he haa spoilt good prospects on a couple of occasions lately by his failure to go steadily If he can be induced to go solidly he should trouble the opposition in his coming engagement When Great Change scored in the Innovation Handicap at Alexandra Park last month he won in the style of a good trotter, cutting 9 l-5a off his handicap time. The Great Audubon gelding has been handh capped up to hia beat in the Hamilton Handicap at Claudelanda and will be meeting a better ciasa therein, but should be capable of a bold showing Among those engaged in the Introductory Handicap at Claudelanda on Saturday ie the Our Thorpe mare Lochade, who has been off the scene ainc-e going 3.56 intq third place in the Parawai Handicap at Thamea last month. If aha has made any improvement she should be one of the possibilities, although on figures she should be held safe by Paradigm. On the two occasions that High Sea showed form last aeason he was racing in saddle and that should be some encouragement for those who supposed him at the recent meeting to follow him in the Visitors' Handicap at Claudelaads on Saturday. In view of the fact that he ran a oredi table third to Uncle Bert and Our Pirate off a 2.55 mark in the President's Handicap at Cambridge last May, he reads nicely placed on the same mark in his. coming engagement. Several timea last aeaaon Master Cute raced well in aaddle events and. although he failed to ahow up in either of his starts at the recent meeting at Alexandra Park, he may be one of the popular fanciea in the Visitors' Handicap at Claudelanda on Saturday. A repetition of his best form, would give him an undeniable chance among the das# engaged. It is expected that Rose Bingen. who has been off the scene aince laat April, will make a reappearance in the Hamilton Handicap at Claudelands on Saturday. The Nelaon Bingen mare has not won aince she took the Rowe Handicap nearly two years ago She is now being trained by A Broughton and whether that trainer can bring her back to her beat form remains to be seen. Acceptances for the Wellington Trotting Club's meeting will close to-morrow. CANTERBURY GOSSIP. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. The pacer Trenand did not stay long wit! F. Holmes. It is reported that he has been sold to an Australian owner and ho is now in W J. Tomkinson'a stable. Trenand ia in good form but from the mark he is on winning will be difficult. When R. Pollock took service with M. B, Edwards fresh arrangements had to he made for training the big pacer Harry Audubon Mr G W Watkina haa placed him under the care of the Winchester trainer, R. I Townley. The pacer Billy Sea, who has been at work at New Brighton for some time, ia back in A Hendrikaen's stable. The old gelding haa been a very disappointing proposition. Kibiringi, who waa trained by H. Frost at New Brighton, ia now working at Forbury Park, his owner residing in Dunedin At the recent meeting Kibiringi raced very badly. The pacing mare. Queen's Own. may not be raced much longer as she ia to be mated with Druaua and retired from the race track. f : It is more than probable that the pacer Dalmeny will change ownership in n few days. The success of Dalnahine, brother to Dalmeny, at Dunedin last week no doubt caused |everal to look toward the younger brother of tho dual winner.
