The Flying Handicap at the Feilding Meeting to-day was one of the best races seen for some time, eight horsea flashing past th© judge almost in line. L. G. Morris had four winning rides on Broad Acre, Vigilance, Vast Acre and Ruanui. Kiosk wcp the Feilding States, , but was lucky to catch Silvermine without the advantage of having had a race, In the Waituna Hurdles Pouri was favourite, with good backing for Troilua, and with Mister' Gamp at a fait prico. Once over the first fence Pouri drew out clear from Troilus. Maidos. Star Area, Mister Gamp ahd Sir Fanciful. Troilus jumped into the lead five furlongs from home, but Pouri scon joined him again. Troilus was beaten at the turn, where Star Area darted through on the rails. Mister Gamp and Pouri had a great battle from the last fence home, racing neck and neck Pouri just wont under by a head to Mister Gamp, and Star Area was three lengths away third Ravel was fourth, witb Troilus, Maidos and Braemar following in that order. Mister Ourip just stayed too well for Pouri. Star hsvt, gave a really good display for a novice. In the Aorangi Trial Plate Broad Acre and Plane carried the bulk ef the money, but Broad Acre • i eturned Quite a remunerative price. At the end of 100 yds Broad Acre led Liaison, Plane, Aurora Borealis, Maui and Royal Picture. Piane and Liaison were'hftndy to Broad Acre at the turn, and Plane seemed sure of second plttoe when Courageous dashed through Broad Acre won by two lengths from Courageous, who beat Plans by half a length. Liaison was fourth,, and then came Royal Picture; Torquil, arid Maui. Broad Acre won well, but Courageous, who wan at a great price, cams in a remarkable manner to gain second place Torquil ran a fair race, which should improve him. Thef_ Feilding Cup saw Paitonu and Euphonium between them carrying more than half the total investments., Joy Bird, the eventual winner, beinj; at a great price in a SAX-hors© fi«ld Wanderlust led past the itafids from Joy Bird and Euphonium •with Tresham, Novar and Paitonu following in that order. Wanderlust dropped back momentarily five and a-ha!f furlongs from home, allowing Joy Bird to i?o out in front. In the run in Joy Bird drew clear to win by two lengths There was a good i battle for second place between Euphonium i and Wanderlust, and the judge could not divide them. Novar was fourth and Pai- | touu last. Joy Bird was well ridden and stayed on very well In the Kowhai Hack Handicap Royal Acre, Feu Simple, and Vigilance were the only onej backed to any extent, but as | two of ithom won their respective divisions the puhlit were not far wrong. In the first dmiion Hypnotic, Fee Simple and Mandarin*; led out tut Tanagra, Broad Acre and Lin Arlington were with them at the *ura. Mandarine and B'road Acre drew out |a flgH out the finish. runner, for she finished very fast and, with a more experienced rider, would have been hard to beat. Fee Simple will be improved by the race. . lei the second division Vigilanoe jumped out clear, but Powhiri led down the back from Night Witch, Vigilance, Some Lad, Hymgreat and Gannymede. Vigilance and Gannyniede collided at the turn, but Vigilance came on in pursuit of Some Lad. who had taken charge. In a punishing finish. Vigilance beat Some Lad by a head, with Powhiri two lengths away third. Kawhukina was fourth, and then came Gannymede and Sovena. Vigilance finished with rare courage. Some Lad was a little unlucky to be beaten. For the Feiiding Stakes Limited was favourite, with Kiosk second choice, and all the others at good prices. Limited, Silver Mine, Lysandet and Kiosk began best, but Royal Duke soon made up bia ground. Lady Cavendish made a fast run to the turn, but once in line Kiosk drew out to win by three-quarters of a length from Silver Mine, who beat Lady Cavendish by three-quarters of a length. Lysan der was fourth and Limited, Licinious, Royal Duke followed in that order. Kiosk won very we?.l, but Silver Mine ran a great race for his first effort under silk this aeaaon. Tn the Flying Handicap Covent Garden wound up a very pronounced favourite, with good sums against the names of Arro-» Lad and Royal Damon. Covent Garden. Mireusonta; and Epistle led to the turn from Royal Damon and Huikai, with Sarchee moving up round his field. Covent Garden lost his place temporarily and Royal Damon, Mireusonta and Epistle were the first to turn for homo. In a great race to the post Covent Garden, on the inside, under the whip, came again, to beat Sarchee by a head, with Elpiatle a head away third. Mireusonta was another head away, with Royal Damon. Royal Land. The Lamb and Arrow Lad right up and practically in line Covent Garden tut up a courageous performance Epistle ran a great race.

In the Fitzroy Hack Handicap Expense was favourite, with Lady Limond. Vast Acre and the Raider-Lady Cynthia bracket well backed. The Raider was left..Vast Acre was the first out from Panther, Royal Time and Lady Cynthia. Vast Acre turned for home well clear, with Expense, Lucky Days and Miaa Mercia coming fast. Vast Acre won easily by two lengths from Expense, who beat Lucky Days by a length and a-half. Misa Mercia waa close up fourth, and then came Lady Limond, Miss Mercia, Royal Time and Doaert Lad. Vast Acre's performance was very good. In the Kiwitea High-weight Handicap Kilmiss and Orazone were the favourites, with aolid backing for Oratrix, Vivo and Queen's Choice, Ruanui, the eventual winner, being at a long price. Ruanui led out of the straight and along the back waa clear of Glen Inms and Kilmiaa. Oratrix ran up to Ruanui and Kilmiaa at the turn, but Ruanui beat Kilmiaa by three-quartera of a length. Vivo wai three lengths away third, a head in front of Oratrix. Orazone, Queen's Choice and Lady Anatruther were next. Ruanui was not backed by hia stable. SECOND DAY'S ACCEPTANCES.
