IDLE AND DISORDERLY.
ONE ACCUSED IMPRISONED. ACQUITTAL OF TWO OTHERS. Pleas ol not guilty were entered in the Police Court yesterday by Walter Raymond Sutherland, aged 38, John Larkin, aged 33, and John Henry Fitzgerald, aged 29, who were charged with being idle and disorderly, in that they consorted with reputed thieves. Five detectives gave details of persons with whom they alleged accused had been associating. Gambling material and cards had been found on two of the accused. After counsel for accused. Mr. Sullivan, had cross-examined the witnesses, and evidence had been given by Larkin and Fitzgerald, tho magistrate, Mr. W. 11. MeKearu said the evidence against those two men did not warrant a convicticn. unci ho dismissed. tho charges against theni. However, he held Sutherland guilty, and sentenced him to two months' imprisonment.
