UNLUCKY JOCKEY CLUB. A. and N.Z. NEWCASTLE. Nov. 28. The Newcastle Jockey Club, by the payment of a premium of £6O, insured its meeting on Saturday for £BOO against the eventuality of 10 points of rain falling bv a certain time on Saturday. When the time limit expired tlie ram gauge registered only 9i points. Immediately afterwards, however, torrential rain fell and necessitated the postponement of the meeting.
