DUTCH FARMERS.

PARTIES FOR AUSTRALIA. TWO HUNDRED EVERY YEAR. To test the emigration to Australia of specially selected Dutch farmers the Netherlands Government has arranged with the Commonwealth Government for the condition requiring migrants to have £4O on landing, to. be waived in favour of 200 Dutch farmers every year. Iti return • the Consul-General, Mr. P. E Teppema, has furnished a bond that these settlers will not become a charga on Australia for three months after land ing. Apart from a sound knowledge either agriculture or dairying, the ago limit has . been fixed by the Consul* General at 20 to 30, and a working knowledge of the English language has also beeu put forward as an absolute necessity. With a view to having the men placed in the country as soon as possible after arrival, the Consul-General, beginning with New South Wales, has enlisted the co-operation of tlie Primary Producers' Union. Only six men will be brought out the first month—probably early in the New Year. The general secretary of the union, Mr. M. P. Duniop, has farmers willing to give the Dutch settleis a trial to communicate with the Sydney office, and tl{e general opinion is that m 'view cf the specialised knowledge of the 'migrants there should be little difficulty in absorbing them in the country.
