THE SUPPLEMENTARY LIST. MAIN HIGHWAY EXPENDITURE ASSISTING HERD-TESTING. GRANT TO SIR TRUBY KING. [BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON, Saturday. Expenditure totalling £206,547 is provided for in the Supplementary Estimates, introduced in the House of Representatives to-day. The sum of £215 is to be set aside for the remission of the balance of death duties in the estate of the late John McGregor. An additional £50,000 is provided for extra labour in connection with the maintenance of telegraph and telephone lines. For tho expenses of the chief telegraph engineer in attending the world radio conference £IOOO is allocated. An additional £IO,OOO is provided for the restoration of roadworks and bridges damaged by flood, and an additional £11,293 for maintenance and repairs to roads. Ex gratia payments totalling £SOOO are to bo made to offset hardship to settlers fiom tailings from the Waihou-Ohinemuri Rivers improvement scheme. To cover the expenses of the Confiscated Native Lands Commission a further £SOO is to bo allowed. For tho maintenance of lepers at Makogai a sum of £650 is to be set aside in addition to £1250 for the cost of removal of lepers from tho Cook Islands. The sum of £9OOO is to be granted for prison farm and garden development work. The Taupo Fisheries. For the purchase of land in connection with the Taupo fisheries a sum of £4250 is to be provided. ' Tho sum of £355 is to be voted for the expenses of the New Zealand representatives at the opening of the Commonwealth Federal Parliament at Canberra. An additional £2OOO is to be provided for the cost of official functions and the entertainment of visitors to the Dominion. The Board of Maori Arts and Crafts is to receive a grant of £1252. The sum of-£IOOO is to be granted to the New Zealand Cricket Council to assist in meeting the expenses of the recent tour of the New Zealand cricketeis abroad. Tho cost of New Zealand representation at the International Economic and Naval Disarmament Conference is to be met by a vote of £550. A special grant of £1250 is to be made to Sir Truby King on his retirement. A subsidy of £SOO £1 for £1 is allowed to the Girl Guides Association. A further £SOCO is to be appropriated in connection with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York. Another £750, which is recoverable, is to bo votjjd fo' the cost of the Auckland Water and Drainage Commission of Inquiry. Tho women's division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union is to receive a grant of £l5O toward the cost of railway transit of nurse and visiting housekeeper. Karitane Hospital Work. The Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children is to receive tho following grants: Karitane Hospital, Christclrureh, building, £500; Auek laud Karitane Hospital, building, £250; Karitane Hospital, Wellington, maintenance, £1000; Karitane Hospital, Invercargill, maintenance, £625; subsidies towaid tho salaries of Plunket nurses, £2OOO. A subsidy of £555, for the Mangonui Hospital, .s to Lie provided. An additional £5700 is to be voted for repairs, alterations, docking, etc., of H.M.S. Duuedin and £505 for the minesweeper, 11.M.5. Wakakura. The charges for tho Napier Harbour Board Commission are £3500, and this amount, which is recoverable, is to be voted. »

A further £IO,OOO is provided for the portion of freight rate oil feitilisers carried by tho Railway Department. For the rent of land, wages and general working expenses, etc., in connection with the horticultural station at To Kauvvhata, an extra £IOOO is provided. A subsidy of £COOO is to be voted for herd-testing associations. To assist in meeting tho 1926 deficit, £3OOO is to be granted to the Otago University, which will also receive £IOOO to provide for additional maintenance in respect to new medical and dental school buildings. An additional subsidy of £25,000 is provided for tho teachers' superannuation fund. The votes for the maintenance and construction of main highways are £25,000 and £75,000, respectively. A sum of £SOOO is to be provided for (lie purchase of stock, etc., for the Massey Agricultural College.
