CHINESE SENT TO PRISON. J [BV TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. | WELLING" 'N. Saturday. A Chinese, Lum Oil, was sentenced by Mr. E. Page, S.M., to-day, to two months imprisonment for overstaying the period allowed under his temporary permit to visit the Dominion The collector of customs said that there was evidently an organised system to defy the law. The magistrate refused a request for a fine instead of imprisonment. Lum On will be deported at the end of his term.
