GRAFTON BRIDGE INCIDENT. MAN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE. Saved from death by passers-by on Friday, Frederick Sibbe, aged 62, bricklayer, pleaded guilty in the Police Court on Saturday to a charge of attempting to commit suicide by jumping over Grafton Bridge. "This man admits he took some liquor," said Senior-Sergeant McCarthy "He has been unable to get work for a little while and became depressed. He climbed up on the parapet of the bridge and Was just saved from committing suicide by passers-by. Nothing is known about him He is a good worker and has employment to go to."
