LAPSE OF WAITRESS.

THEFT OF WATCH ADMITTED. " DANCES AND LATE HOURS." Described as being a young girl who kept late hours and attended many dances, Nellie Brown, aged 18, waitress, pleaded guilty in the Police Court on Saturday to a charge of having stolen a watch valued at £3 belonging to Margaret Caddy. According to Chief-Detective Cumrnings accused stole the watch from an institution. "She has been in Auckland alone for some months," he said, "and has been keeping late hours and going to numerous dances." Sentence was deferred by the magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, until tonvorrow. In the meantime accused will be under the control of the female probation officer, Major Gordon.
