NEW DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.
FORMATION AT PAEROA. [BY TELEGRAM!. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAEROA, Friday. A well-attended meeting of ex-service men and others was held in Paeroa last evening when it was decided to form a Paeroa Defence Rifle Club. The following were elected officers for the ensuing year Patrons, Messrs. A. M. Samuel, M.P., and E. W. Porritt; president, Mr. E. Edwirds; deputy-prctfidont, Mr. P. R. Hubbard; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. Simmonds; auditor, Mr. W. L. Lawrence; handicapper, Mr. H. Simmonds; selectors, Messrs* N. C. Busby, H. Simmonds, and A. Jenkinson; committee, Messrs. li. I. Wells, A. Bridge, A. A. Jenkinson, W. A. Reid, R. W. Medhurst. The position of range officer was left in the bands of the committee to fill.
