CAPTIVES OF RIFFS.
FRENCH PAY RANSOM. HEAVY TRIBUTE EXACTED. (Received November 18, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. PARIS. Nov. 17. It is believed that the ransom paid by the French authorities in Morocco for the release of the four members of the Resident-General, M. Steeg, who were captured by the Riff tribesmen, was 8,000,000 francs.
