Now beats tho first warm pulse of summer —now , t Thero shines great glory on the mountain s brow. Tho face of heaven in tho western sky, When falls tho sun, is filled with diety! And while tho first light floods the lake and lea, Tho morning makes a marvel of tho sea; Tho strong leaves sing; and in the deep green zones Of rock-bound glens the streams have many tones; And where tho evening-coloured waters Now P gh'des November down fair falls of grass. She is the wonder with tho golden wings, Who lays ono hand in summer's—one in Spring's; About her hair a sunset radiance glows; Her month is sister of tho dewy rose; And all the beauty of tho pure blue skies Has lent its lustre to her soft, bright t—Honry Kendall.
