EXHIBITION OF SKETCHES.
AN ATTRACTIVE DISPLAY.
An attractive collection of pictnres is at present on view at the homo of Mrs. R Anthony Carr, F.R.G.S., Market Road. Remuera The exhibition is mainly composed of Now Zealand studies, and the scenes depicted give a very realistic impression of the many beauty spots to be toujid in' the Dominion. Glimpses of the beaches, with pohutukawas nearby in a wealth of bloom, charm the eye from tiino to time, the rich greenery of the native bush and the waters of Hamu rana cast with shadows, give a feeling of restfulncss, and the vivid gold of forse at the height of summer, recalls the rilliaut colour effects to bo obtained in the country districts. Many chai'ming scenes round the Mediterranean are also depicted. In October last year Mrs. Carr held a most successful exhibition in London to raise funds for St. Dunstan's Hospital, and in May of next year sho will exhibit the present, collection at the Porum Clyb in London. This time the proceeds from the sale of her pictures will bo donated to Dr. Barnardo's Homes.
