SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR.
BELMONT FUNCTION.
The Belmont Presbyterian Church celebrated its first anniversary with a "Birthday Fair" yesterday afternoon and even ing. Tho function was opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Takapuna. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Williamson. A large ■variety of articles was attractively displayed on the different stalls, which were lavishly decorated With pile pink and bine streamers and %r£enery. Ladies in chargp' of; the various stalls were:—Produce, Mrs. 'A. .Wheatly, Mrs 2). Roberts; flower stall, Mrs. and Miss Collet and Mrs. W. Young; jumble stall. Mrs. B. Carter. Mrs. Cambridge and Mrs. R. Gyde; work stall, Mrs. R. Kessel, Mrs. V. Trevurza, Mrs. Bond and Mrs. Paul; cakes, Mrs. Kay, Mrs. Legget and Mrs. A. Campbell; sweets; Mrs. S. J. At-, ldns and Miss B. M. Grieve; tea room, Mrs. L. A. Stokes st curi&, fcoom, Mrs. E. M. Garraway; men's stall, Mr G. F. Grieve. Dftring the afternoon a donation of £IOO was given by Mrs. Walter Buchanan
A novel feature of the evening's programmo was a lecture and exhibit, by Irs. Lee-Cowio, World's Missionary for the Women's Christian Temperance Union, on the "Bethlehem Bride," when a descriptive representation of a Jewish wedding ceremony in Bethlehem was given.
